- German building regulations limit the depth of the floor plate by
regulating how far most workers can be from a window (7.5m approx.)
- Healthy concept of giving workers control over their individual
work environments:  privacy, light, and atmospheric conditions
- This control and its effectiveness must be incorporated into the office
culture so that energy is not wasted through improper use
- Many new German office buildings contain assemblies of one or two-
person cells, each with openable windows and control over temperature
   and ventilation
- A graywater system routes rainwater to sodded roofs over the Debis
building's low-rise section with the excess filling the pond that surrounds
   the building
